July was an explosion of fun. Britt and the kids came for two and a half weeks. We had an absolute blast while they were visiting. We explored everything and anything within a reasonable distance to home :) Here's a look at two plus weeks with the Clark family.
First, a little brag session about my boys :) I forgot to document this in our June journal. The boys each received awards for their excellent year of school.
Beckham received the Role Model Rock Star award. I love that at the bottom of his chocolate bar it said "For being someone everyone looks up to!"
Jack received the Smarties Award for his intelligence and hard work all year long. Mrs. Adkins even gave him a big smarties candy.
Now for a look at our fun two weeks with the Freeze crew.
First stop was to check on all of the ducks at the nearby pond.
The ducklings have gotten so big. We even saw some turtles. You can see their heads peaking out of the water.
The following day we had a pool party in the back yard. The kids loved sliding, spraying water guns, riding the roller coaster, and tossing water balloons. We even ended it with some delicious popsicles in the sun.
Nothing like a little fun in the sun.
Big Trees State Park was the first adventure on our list. After a pretty windy drive up there, with a little car sickness, and a few pestering bees during our picnic lunch, we made it! It was definitely a trip to remember. We loved exploring the trail and marveling at the huge trees.
A cousin picture in the tree :)
Quick pit stop before finishing the trail.
I absolutely LOVE this picture. Sammy in the background is the cutest, haha.
One last photo op on the huge stump! Grateful we could make the time to be outside and in the trees.
The following day we made it to the beach. This day was probably the most anticipated day by Lydia, Luke, Sam and Britt. They were so excited to get their feet in the ocean and digging in the sand. I think it is safe to say that everyone LOVED this day! Bakers Beach is one of my all time favorite places to visit. These ended up being some of my favorite pictures from the trip. It was a perfect day.
Gosh we love this place. There is nothing like San Francisco.
I mean...WOW! This place is like a little heaven on Earth.
This little man was loving life. He would run around in circles and then fall to the ground. He loved the sand. It was so fun to watch all of the kids, dig, play, run, and just be kids.
Love this guy
After a couple hours at the beach, we headed across the Golden Gate. We wanted to try and get in some sweet museum time while we had the chance. We ended up at an awesome children's museum called Bay Area Discovery Museum just over the bridge into Marin County. It was perfect for our littles. I think everyone stayed pretty entertained throughout our time there. Plus, the view was phenomenal.
Playing a little music outside.
"Hey look, we're on a boat!"
Love this girl! I am so happy Britt made the journey west to visit us. There is nothing like some good quality sister time.
We decided to take a new way home. We drove through Sausalito, and it did not disappoint. It was exciting to see the city from a different perspective.
Someone fell asleep on the way home :)
I think everyone was a little tuckered out after our beach/museum day.
On Monday we planned for a pool day. I have a close friend at church that let us use her pool while her family was out of town. We had such a fun time swimming, snacking, and laying out in the sun. It was a perfect swim day. I am so grateful to Erika for letting us come by.
After some fun in the sun, Preston took everyone to the Ghirardelli outlet shop for ice cream. I think it is safe to say everyone had a blast there :)
Look at that cute face :)
One night, we decided bowling would be the ideal treat for everyone. Our family LOVES to bowl so we were excited when the Freezes agreed to go.
Preston met us there after work. It worked out really well since he could keep Sammy occupied while everyone else took turns bowling. We had such a great time.
One more trip to San Francisco. We headed to all of the touristy spots and then on to another museum.
Due to birthing season for the sea lions, there was just one lonely guy on the docks. It was so weird to see only one sea lion. These docks are usually jam packed with sea lions. The kids didn't mind one bit though. They stayed and watched for quite a while.
After our trip to the docks we headed to the Exploratorium. This was a museum that had been on our list for a while. People raved about it. Lucky for us, Britt had some discounted tickets so we were all able to enjoy.
Every time I look at this picture it makes me think of the Three Little Bears. Love this cute crew!
There was SO much to see and LOADS to do. It was a little overwhelming, to be honest.
Shadow pictures. Such a cool stop.
Thanks for a sweet time Exploratorium!
Taking turns on the sea lion.
One of my seat buddies. How cute is this kid?!
Hanging in the back and watching some movies on the drive.
My other seat buddy. Love that girl.
Sammy took a selfie of himself. Haha.
One more swim day at the Chapman pool! So grateful we had this to go to.
We swam and played for a couple hours. It was the perfect way to get some wiggles out and leave with some tired kiddos ;)
On one of our last days with the Freeze family we headed to a giant indoor play place called Lost World. It was massive! The kids had SO much fun running around and exploring.
Jack climbing and climbing some more!
Lydia's turn.
Mini golf for the win!
One more trip to the beach before saying goodbye to the Freeze clan. This time we headed to Half Moon Bay. I had been wanting to go for some time so it was nice to have an excuse. We found the perfect beach once we got there. It was like a little cove with small waves and kid friendly.
After our time with Britt, Lydia, Luke, and Sam it was so hard to say goodbye. The kids loved having each other to play with and I enjoyed having another adult around. It was fun making dinners together, chatting throughout the day, having help with the kids, playing games, and for the cousins to make memories as well. We are so grateful that Britt decided to take that semi-scary (because she was by herself) journey our way. I think everyone involved enjoyed the time we had together. It's a memory I will not soon forget. A trip for the books!
After everyone left, I got a really bad sinus cold. It was no bueno. I was out for a couple days. Every where I went I had three little angels follow. I think the kids enjoyed those few days because they got to play a lot of games and watch loads of shows, haha. So grateful for modern medicine! Within a few days, I was back to myself for the most part.
Once I was on my feet again, Quinn made sure to stop at "Spa Lesley's" for a little mani/pedi. She just makes life that much sweeter. We had so much fun playing "spa day".
