May Family Time and A Trip to Tahoe

I cannot believe that we are almost done with June and I am just getting to our May journal entry...Yeesh! It seems that time is not on my side, haha. I planned to do this entry many times before now, but things continued to get in the way including my favorite thing...travel!

However, I cannot look past or skip the celebrations and the time we had in May. To kick off May we celebrated...well, me;) I had an incredible Mother's Day this year just as I do every year. I'm surrounded by my favorite four humans, receiving constant hugs, being spoiled rotten, told Happy Mother's Day over and over again, and loved all day long. I felt like the Queen! I couldn't have asked for a more incredible husband and three amazing kiddos. They bring me so much joy.

I thank the Lord daily for these three precious gifts He sent me. I couldn't be more blessed!

On May 14th we headed to Lake Tahoe. The kids had no idea that two very special guests were meeting us there. I was like a kid on Christmas Eve. Grandma and Poppa Spung were waiting for us at the Airbnb. We got in around 7pm and headed to our room. We let the kids go in first and then Jack came running out saying, "Mom, I think we have the wrong room. I saw someone in there." Little did he realize it was Grandma and Pop, haha. We all came into the living room where they were waiting for us and the kids exploded when they realized who it was, haha. It was such a fun surprise. I am so happy we did it. The kids started talking a mile a minute about the day, the drive, Tahoe, etc. They were beyond thrilled.

A sunset view from our apartment.

One more for good luck ;) It was a gorgeous night and perfect weather.

Everyone got ready for bed and settled in for a little story time with Jack. I think this picture sums up how excited everyone was to have Grandma and Pop there.

This bear was so cool. He was right outside the lodge.

Family shot. Love these people!

Grandma, Pop, and the bear. They made it to Lake Tahoe! YAY!!

So happy to have these five back together again. I couldn't tell who was more excited, Grandma and Pop or the kids. I think it was pretty even if I'm being honest, haha. There is absolutely NOTHING like family!

We ventured down to the lake after eating a delicious breakfast at Driftwood Cafe. I wanted to practice my photography skills and we wanted to make sure that Mom and Dad got the full experience of the lake. It's absolutely gorgeous. I very much enjoy Lake Tahoe and look forward to our visits every time.

Beckham James!

Now that's the cutest 6 year old I've ever seen ;)

Happy 6th Birthday Beckham boy! Beckham is a one of a kind boy. He is very loyal, honest, and full of love. He has a great passion for playing video games, being outdoors, watching/playing football, soccer, and playing with his Dad. He asks me every day if Dad will play something with him when he gets home. Beckham is also my cuddle bug. He loves sitting with me, reading stories, and helping around the house. He is REALLY good at reading. He's a very smart kid. Loves school and all things Zelda, Mario, and Sonic. Plus, he's always wanting to hang and play with Jack and Quinn. I am so grateful that these three all love each other and get along so well. I cannot believe my baby boy is 6!

I love Jack's hair sticking up in the back on these. That's a Mom fail for not brushing his hair before hand. Haha. This 7 year old of ours is growing up WAY too fast!

Cute little Miss Quinn Marie

Grateful to these three for being troopers in letting me take some pics of them so I could practice a little more.

This was our setting. Stunning!

We sat and looked out at this big beautiful lake and took it all in.

We loved looking at the different colors on the lake. There were these crazy lines separating different hues of green and blues.

A storm was rolling in so we couldn't spend too much time here. We wanted to make sure to show the parents a hike we enjoy when we come up here.

Oh the joy! How cute is this?!

Now that's one good lookin' family ;)

Beckham's personality in a nutshell, haha. Love this kid!

Before we took off I wanted to go down by the lake real quick to snap a few more shots. Beckham and Quinn followed and wanted some pics along the way. I of course obliged ;)

Quinn and Lake Tahoe

Now that's Quinnie's personality in a nutshell ;) Such a beautiful sweet little girl.

On one side of the lake the storm was moving in. On the other side it was blue and gorgeous. It was really cool to witness the storm moving in.

Having fun in the sand ;)

We left the lake to come to hike this beautiful area.

I LOVE trees.

I've said it before and I will say it again and again and again :) There's something about being out in nature and in the trees that is so calming.

These bad boys were SO tall. They were truly magnificent giants in the woods.

Jack found some fun collectibles along the way. We left his treasures for others to find them once we were done with the hike. His pockets were starting to weigh him down, haha.

Three happy kiddos in the woods :) Gosh, I love them!

Adventuring we go!

So fun being all together. Plus, the weather was perfect! No rain so far. Phew!

Family shot :)

Les gettin' crazy with her camera and enjoying a little Tahoe photo shoot ;)

Loved this shot.

And I love this man! The rain started to come right as we were leaving the park. Perfect timing.

Back at the condo while the rain came in. We enjoyed eating delicious pizza from Base Camp Pizza (a favorite of ours) and playing games. Beckham was SO excited about his birthday the following day he asked if he could open up one gift from Grandma and Pop.

Sonic jammies! He was over the moon excited. It was exactly what he had asked them for.

Happy Birthday Beckham!

The following morning was Beckham's special day. He asked for eggs and donuts for breakfast. Once we finished our tasty breakfast we packed up and headed home. We wanted to make sure to give Beckham a fun birthday with a few more presents and cake at home. He asked for Subway as his special lunch so we stopped there on our way back and enjoyed the break from the car. He was so thrilled that all of his dreams were coming true, haha.

A SCOOTER!!!

Beckham had asked for a green Zelda cake. I couldn't deliver on the Zelda part, haha, but the green I could ;) I printed him a really cool Zelda picture instead. He still has it hanging up in his room.

Make a wish!

I think this cute kid really enjoyed his birthday this year. He received every gift he asked for which included pajamas, water balloons, some outdoor toys, a new Nintendo Switch game and a scooter. I think he did well between the grandparents and us. He even had Grandma and Pop there to celebrate with him! He's one lucky and very loved boy!

Quinnie showing off her mad trampoline skills.

The time with Mom and Dad went by really fast. We had a TON of fun at Lake Tahoe and enjoyed resting at our place for the rest of their stay. We took walks to see the ducks, played games every night, the kids showed off their video game skills, and we enjoyed spending time together. We always love when Grandma and Pop come to town!

We were so excited to eat in a restaurant as a family. We went to Texas Roadhouse one night and treated the crew to a delicious meal. We all devoured it. We may have taken a few more rolls and butter home for good measure ;)

Me and my boy!

One day the kids asked if they could play "camping". I said, "Sure." This was the result.

Everyone had a packed book bag full of necessities, a place to sleep, a tent to hang out in, Jack made a "fire", and a table to eat their packed lunches. I love it when they use their imaginations and get creative.

They had a ball!

Last day of school!!!  Beckham with his friend Ila.

One more year with Mrs. Meadows is in the books!

We sure do love our favorite Kindergarten teacher. We are so grateful for her and all she does for our kids. Quinn looks forward to having her in two years.

Mrs. Adkins and Jackson.

This school year was different than any other school year I had known. However, having said that, I loved this year of school. The teachers did such an incredible job keeping the kids attention even when we were online for school. We went back to in person school in mid October so we were very blessed to have 4 days in school and one online school day a week. It was a much busier year as a parent and trying to keep everything organized and turned in on time. It didn't always happen smoothly but everyone was SO understanding. We did it! We made it work. Now we look forward to a much more "normal" year this August.

I'm Famous!

Haha. I saw this pop up on the Fit52 stories on Instagram and couldn't believe it was me! Thanks for the shout out Carrie!

It's OFFICIALLY Summer Time!

The kids were throwing water balloons and playing in the pool when Pres decided to join them after his run. The kids thought it was so awesome to have dad join in.

"Hey Mom, I look like Dad." HAHA! Love you Quinn Marie!

May was my kind of month. Family time, adventure, fun, celebrations, and delicious food. We loved our May, but I know we are all looking forward to our June as well. More family time, a trip away, and some summer time fun!
