Spending Thanksgiving in Utah!

November is my favorite month of the year! It means lots of football, family, food, fall weather, and my birthday!! It's always a fun month.

Beckham has been quite the football enthusiast. He knows every team, a ton of players, and crazy stats about the teams and players. He loves watching and rewatching games. He is also the first to let us know it's a football night and who is playing. We may have the next Tom Brady on our hands :) Pres and I are excited to get him into flag football next year. I think he's going to love it.

Beckham's happy place.

An early birthday gift to me :)
You know it's a good massage if your hair is crazy and you look like you just woke up :)

We had a movie night with the Young Women and these three found a cozy spot.

Queen Quinn

I had a little lunch date with Quinnie since she didn't have school one day. We had so much fun.

Our piano was way out of tune so I had someone tune and clean it for me. I asked him how old he thought the piano was out of curiosity. I was expecting him to say it was from the 1980's and was shocked when he said 1921!  I couldn't believe it. He said that he guessed the piano hasn't been cleaned since then either. While he was cleaning he found a nickel from 1929. He said, "Well, there you go, it hasn't been cleaned since it left the warehouse." Again, I was shocked. How cool is that?! To have something that is 100 years old and that has been played by who knows how many people. A little piece of history in our home :) Grateful to have a clean and tuned piano now.

Our lucky 1929 nickel

Jack and Beckham have been in Karate for some time now and Beckham has really enjoyed it. Jack counts down to the day he will be able to cheer Beckham on from the stands, haha. Beckham has now received his next belt and we are so proud of him. He had to kick a board and do several different moves before receiving his camouflage belt. He had to yell, "Yes I can!" three times before smashing that board with his foot. So proud of our karate kid!

Thanksgiving in UTAH!!

The Fab Four!

I was SO stinkin excited to celebrate my birthday with these incredible women. We haven't all been together in like 4 or 5 years. We keep in touch quite often through Marco Polo but haven't had a face to face in what seemed like forever. We ate at TRUreligion pancake house and it was delicious. Such amazing food. We stayed and chatted for hours and enjoyed every minute together. LOVE these three humans more than they know. So grateful to have such a strong and lasting friendship with each of them.
That evening we took the kids to BYU to check out where their Dad went to school. We enjoyed the gift shop quite a bit. Everyone got to pick one thing out to remind them of BYU.

That night we celebrated Sam and my birthdays at the bowling alley. It was such a blast being together with everyone and bowling is always a fave.

Spung Girls :)

Tari and Brianne came to bowl with us too! It was SO much fun catching up with them.

A little virtual reality to end the night.

The following day we got to hang out with this crew!

We were so excited to spend some time with the Williamson family before they took off to Arkansas for Thanksgiving. The cousins loved having time to play while Mikale, Pres and I caught up on life. I finally tried Cupbop for the first time as well. Pres raved about how good it was and I have to agree. Such a tasty dish.

Love these two

Thanksgiving!
Our appetizer spread looked so awesome that I had to take a pic. I didn't get any other food pics but it was all tasty.

Make a wish!
Beckham won :)

We played quite a bit outside. The kids loved climbing the mountain, playing trucks, and swinging on the tree swing. Grandma and Pop's house is loads of fun. While the kids played outside we had football going and games happening on the inside. I neglected to get any other pics that day...silly me. I was just enjoying all the food and conversation around me.

Quinn and Pop drawing on her kindle. I love Q's outfit here. How cute is that little girl?!

Watching the deer in a neighbor's yard from a safe distance :)

Three little amigos.

These two look so much alike. They could be brothers.

Jack and Cameron bonding time.

Enjoying a little Dairy Keen after getting a tour of the new Calderwood plantation.

We were so excited to head to Heber for the day. I was very much looking forward to seeing all of the work Ang and Cor put into their new house. It is absolutely gorgeous! They did such an incredible job and it truly is a dream home. They spent countless hours for months getting it built and designed perfectly. I think they will have some pretty incredible years in that new place they can now call home. I can't wait to see it once Angie does all her decorating and the house is filled with people and lots of love. Next time we come to Utah we may have to stay at the Calderwood B&B ;)

Heading to Uncle Jimmy!
Our trip went by SO stinkin fast. It was as if we blinked and we were on our last day. We had such a great time with everyone we got to see. On our last night we stayed with Jim and Em in their new house. They too have done lots of work on their home. It all looks so great. I can't wait to see it all finished. It was so fun spending some time with them and finally meeting Em's kids for the first time.

Seat buddies

Home bound!
We truly enjoyed every day we were able to spend with family and friends. We LOVED seeing all of the people we love even if it was for a short time. One good thing about Utah is that when you go, you have plenty of people to see, and loads of things to do. We are so grateful to our family for helping us make this trip a memorable one.

October

October was a jam packed month. I have the opportunity of helping with the youth program at church. I serve in Young Women as the President and it is by far one of my favorite areas to help out. These young women are absolutely incredible. They are smart, funny, kind, and full of Christ's love. One of the things I have enjoyed doing over the past two months has been attending various games. Several of the girls are in sports while in High School and I love cheering them on. It's so fun to get a group of us together to cheer on volleyball, tennis, cheer, soccer, or basketball.

Cheering on Abby and Alex at their volleyball game.

Maryn, Annabelle, Allie, Cindy, Abby, Erika (the girls Mom), Alex, and me :)
We all came to cheer the girls on. It was so fun to watch them play.

How cute is this little cheerleader of ours?!

Another young woman of mine, Jill, is a cheerleader for the Manteca football team. They had a fundraiser and she asked Quinn to cheer with her for the night. Quinn was SO excited! She counted down to the day that she would be able to cheer. She went to three practices with Jill to learn some cheers and a halftime dance. She looked forward to each practice and had so much fun. It worked out perfectly too because Mom and Dad came in the day before her performance. I was so happy that they could be here to root for our little cheerleader.

Beckham and I cheering for Quinnie.

Dad, Mom, and Jack bundled up for the performance of a lifetime :)

It was surprisingly really cold that night. I am so happy we brought blankets to bundle up in. Unfortunately, I left Quinn's coat at home. About halfway through the first quarter I could tell she was cold so I gave her my hoodie. She looks a little silly in it but I was grateful she was warm :)

Go Q!

This was during her halftime performance before her dance started. She's the one in the oversized hoodie, haha.

Quinn did such an incredible job. We were all SO dang proud of her. She remembered all of the cheers as well as the half time dance. The boys cheered her on the entire first half. I love seeing how supportive the kids are to each other. They get so excited to see each other try and succeed in new things. After halftime Quinnie's part was over so we left for home.

A park day with Grandma and Pop. Plus, Subway for dinner!

Pres and I took off to Hawaii a few days after Quinn's debut. The kids were thrilled to have Grandma and Pop all to themselves. They played games, went to the park, ate really well, played catch with Pop, and loved the quality time they got. I think it's safe to say that the entire week was enjoyed by all sides involved. Pres and I could actually vacation knowing that everything at home was being taken care of too. We are so grateful for Mom and Dad and their willingness to watch our kiddos while we took off for some time away.

Unfortunately, on our last day in Hawaii Jack got sick. Luckily it was just a 24 hour bug. We were so grateful that once again, we knew he was being taken care of by the best. We didn't worry at all and knew Mom and Dad would help him in anyway needed.

Once we were home we only had a few days with the parents before they took back off to Utah. We had a great time playing games, watching movies, and just relaxing at home. It's always a fun time when Grandma and Poppa Spung come to visit.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Once we were home we were officially ready to get Halloween started. We made crazy monster cookies, painted wooden Halloween figures, picked out costumes, and got our pumpkins ready for carving.

Monster cookies...yum!

Quinn painted this cute cat.
She still has this cat in her room on display. She loves it so much.

Our Monster cookies.

This year we had a Creeper from Minecraft.

Link from Zelda Breath of the Wild

And Skye from Paw Patrol. Quinn wanted to wear this costume one more year :)

The cutest trio in the neighborhood.

Love my boys!

One final trip for the month. Our Young Men and Young Women went to the Oakland temple to do some service and it was awesome. It felt so good being back in the temple and surrounded by incredible souls.

October was one for the books. We enjoyed every minute of this month. From vacationing, to family visits, to service opportunities, and fun Halloween festivities, October was a month that made us smile.
