A month has gone by...

I know people say that time flies as we get older, but WOW did it go fast this past month.  Beckham is already one month old!  Here's a quick update on how the Clark's are holding up and adapting to two!

Today we had Beckham's one month check up and our little butterball weighed in at 11 lbs. 12 oz. He is in the 92nd percentile for those that are curious.  The doctor called him a meatball and when I heard his height, I understood why.  He is 21 1/2 in. and is in the 15th percentile for height.  So basically he's short and round...like a meatball haha.  He still is showing signs of jaundice so we are testing that once again - but the doctor has no concerns at this point.  He said that babies can have jaundice for up to two months after birth when they are breastfed.  Becks is starting to smile a little here and there and doesn't look at us all confused as much.  I think he is starting to realize we are "ok people" ;) He has jumped from about every 3-3 1/2 hour feedings to 4-5 hour feedings making my life GREAT! Sleeps and eats like a champ.

Jackson LOVES his brother! He is continuing to hug, kiss, and pat his head often.  He likes to be as close to him as possible at times.  We have to be careful to watch he doesn't sit on him or attempt to drag him around the apartment haha.  Jack is a growing boy as well.  He is learning new things daily. He loves to make animal noises, can say a few words and really seems to understand most of everything you say to him.  His favorite noises to imitate are lion, elephant, cat and cow.  He even throws out a random roar at times haha. He has also learned how to climb onto well... everything.  He gets himself up on the coffee table, toy boxes, couch and will even try to climb into his crib.  We also find him sitting in our new double jogger waiting to go run with his dad.  He really enjoys being outside and loves taking walks.  We are also learning patience as he explores and learns. Sometimes I get tired of hearing myself say "no" so much.  I have to go and do something else with him and change his direction just to "yes" haha.  There's a lot of redirecting and a lot of the same "no's".  Ahhh patience.

As for Pres and I, we are doing good.  Hanging in there as we adapt to our two incredible boys. I won't lie.  Some nights and even days are hard due to lack of sleep, but for the most part we cannot complain.  I have adjusted to taking a shower when I can steal a minute and napping when Jack sleeps.  We have been very blessed and are so grateful to have these two in our lives.  I feel like a 90 year old sometimes because I go to bed at like 9pm every night knowing I have a night feeding and an 18 month old ready for me at 7am.  Oh how life changes when you have kids! Haha. There are days I miss having my mom here to wake up with Jack :) but as soon as I see his smiling face in the morning everything seems to be alright.

Preston is working hard at the hospitals and continues to learn and grow.  He has great co-workers keeping him on his toes, teaching him and directing him in different areas of the healthcare field.

Here's a few pics from our adventures this past month.

I love this pic of my Mom and Beckham. She came to help us for 2 weeks right when he was born.  I am so thankful to have the Mom that I do.  She is such a support and has helped me greatly. Love you Mom!

We try to go on a walk everyday to get out of the house.

A day at the park.  There's a park that has a covered area for toddlers. Jackson LOVES playing here.

Jack's thinking "I'm not doing anything Mom.  Just wanted to be as close as I can." Beckham is thinking, "He's a little close Mom." Haha

I forgot to put his bib on before he ate and when I came back he had put it on himself, haha.  Such a smart boy.  It may be upside down and backwards but it works :) I thought it was so cute.

A new toy for the little man.  He absolutely LOVES this and so do I.  We can play with it in the shade and still feel the heat of El Paso and Becks can be outside too.

Soaking up the sunshine while big brother splashes all around him.

He loves to splash all over.  I had to put more water in at one point haha.  He just yells and splashes.

For those that may be curious as to how alike our boys look, here's a side by side.  I can't believe how much they look alike.  It takes me back when Beckham makes certain faces.  He reminds me of Jack so much.

Beckham is on the left giving his smolder look and Jackson is on the right.  Brothers? Yea, I think so.  Those are two cute boys if I say so myself :)
